Artivy built PourFect! as a free, ad-supported game. This page explains what it collects, what it does not, and what leaves your device. It covers both the Android app and the browser version on this site, because they do not collect the same things.
There are two ways to play PourFect!, and everything else on this page describes the Android app from Google Play. The browser version at artivy/pourfect/play.html is narrower:
PourFect! has no accounts, no sign-in and no server of its own. Nothing you type is collected, because there is nothing to type. What the app keeps and what it sends are different lists.
Kept on your device only, in Android's app preferences:
Android's Auto Backup is left on, so those preferences may be copied to your Google account and restored when you set up a new device. That copy is held by Google under your account, not by us, and it is what lets your progress follow you to a new phone.
Sent off the device, by Google's own SDKs rather than by any code of ours:
PourFect! uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, both from Google. Analytics records how the game is used — such as levels started and finished, and whether a level was left unfinished — so that difficulty can be judged from something other than guesswork. Crashlytics records the technical details of a crash: the stack trace, the device model and the Android version. Neither is used to identify you, and neither collects anything you have typed, because there is nothing to type.
These reports are processed by Google under its own privacy policy. Nothing about the boards you solve is combined with anything else, and there is nothing to combine it with — the game has no account.
Your information is never sold.
PourFect! shows adverts through Google AdMob: a banner on the Settings screen, a full-screen advert when you leave a finished level, and optional rewarded adverts for taking back a move or unlocking the extra bottle. The first five levels show none at all.
Rewarded adverts are always opt-in. A dialog names the advert and what it buys before anything plays, and declining costs nothing.
Where the law requires it — in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — a Google consent form appears before the first advert is requested, asking whether adverts may be personalised. That choice can be changed at any time from Ad privacy options in the game's Settings screen, which appears wherever Google reports it is required.
These services see data through PourFect! and have their own privacy policies:
PourFect! is built for children as well as adults, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
The first time you open the Android app it asks what year you were born, before any advert is requested. The answer is kept on your device, it is never sent to us, and it is asked only once. It decides one thing:
The question changes nothing about the game. Every level, every bottle and every undo is the same whichever answer you give.
Separately, and for every player regardless of age, advert content in PourFect! is capped at Google's “G” rating — suitable for general audiences, and sensitive advert categories are excluded.
The browser version is a different case, and it is not aimed at children. It asks no age question, shows one ordinary display advert served by Google AdSense under Google's own policies, and reads nothing about who is playing. The age gate and the child treatment described above belong to the Android app.
Everything the game keeps is on your own device. Clearing the app's data, or uninstalling it, removes it — along with your progress, which cannot be recovered afterwards. Advertising choices can be changed from Ad privacy options in Settings, and your Android advertising ID can be reset or deleted from your device's own settings.
This policy is updated when the game changes what it collects. The effective date above is when the current version took effect.
