Website Privacy Policy
This policy covers this website — the pages you are reading and the browser versions of our games. The Android apps are covered separately, one policy each, because they genuinely collect different things.
The short version
We do not ask who you are and we have nowhere to put an answer. There is no account, no sign-in and no server holding your data: this site is a set of static files. Your game progress is saved by your own browser, on your own device, and is never sent to us. We run no analytics and no crash reporting on this website.
The one third party involved is Google AdSense, which serves the adverts on some pages and does set cookies of its own. That part is described in full below.
What this site stores on your device
Each browser game keeps its state in your browser's localStorage, under keys namespaced to that game — your current level, the board you left mid-solve, your best score, your streak. It exists so that closing the tab does not throw away your run.
This data never leaves your device. We cannot read it, we do not receive a copy of it, and there is no version of it on any server — which also means we cannot restore it if it is lost. Clearing your browser's site data for this domain deletes all of it, and every game will simply start again from the beginning.
Some browsers refuse to allow storage at all — a private window, or storage switched off. In that case the games fall back to keeping their state in memory for as long as the page is open, and the page tells you that your progress will not survive a reload rather than losing it silently.
Advertising
Adverts on this site are served by Google AdSense. We place the ad slots; Google decides which advert appears in them. We never see who you are, and we receive no personal information about any visitor from Google — only aggregate reports of how many adverts were shown.
What this means in practice, in Google's own terms:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve adverts based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve adverts to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Opting out does not remove adverts; it removes the personalisation.
- You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Consent, if you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland
Advertising cookies require your consent in those regions. It is collected by Google's own certified consent message, which appears before any personalised advert is served — not by us, and we never receive your answer. The message offers three choices: Consent, Do not consent, and Manage options, which lets you accept or refuse each purpose and each advertising partner individually.
Refusing changes which adverts you see and nothing else. Every game on this site remains completely playable, with no feature withheld and nothing asked of you a second time.
You can change your mind at any time:
We do not run Google Auto ads, we place no advert within reach of a game board, and no advert on this site is a video you are asked to watch in exchange for anything. Every advert here is a plain display banner, loaded once when the page loads and never refreshed.
Nothing else is loaded from anywhere else
Google's advertising, described above, is the only third party this site contacts. Not a JavaScript library, and no longer a typeface: the two faces the site is set in are served from this site, so fetching them reaches no one but us. They came from Google Fonts until now, which meant your IP address and browser details went to Google's font servers to get them. The home page also used to pull a JavaScript library from a public code CDN for its background animation; that animation is plain CSS now and the request is gone. There are no social widgets, no tracking pixels, no comment system, no embedded video and no tag manager.
What we do not do
- We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or locations through this site. There is no form on it to type them into.
- We do not build profiles of visitors, and we have no visitor database to build them in.
- We do not sell or share personal information, because we hold none.
- We run no analytics on this site — no Google Analytics, no alternative, nothing counting page views.
Children
The games are suitable for a general audience, and this site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through this site, please write to us and we will look into it.
The Android apps are different
The apps on Google Play are not covered by this page. They carry Google AdMob rather than AdSense, several of them include Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics, and they back progress up through Android's own backup service — none of which applies here. Each app therefore has its own policy, which names what that specific app collects:
Your choices
You can clear everything this site has stored at any time through your browser's settings for this domain, and you can block or clear advertising cookies through the links above. Neither breaks the games; the first resets your progress, the second only changes which adverts you see.
Changes to this policy
If what this site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Material changes will be reflected here before the change goes live rather than after.
